It has the tools you need to to get the job done, but it is no joy to use.

I believe the BookSmart software is no longer under development, now abandoned in favor of BookWright. Blurb reprinted the book at no cost, and I have had no issues with any of the other books. My first order was for a book that included some B&W images that were neutral or warm on my screen, but looked very cool (too blue) in the book. I was very satisfied with the finished product except for one. I have made 4 or 5 Blurb books, but no magazines. I may look at developing a "PhotoTips" ebook as a commercial endeavor (small scale).Īny feedback on your Photo Book creation experiences would be appreciated! It seems to be a bit of a learning curve although there is a downloadable user guide and a number of videos on YouTube from Blurb and others.
There are also 3 preset templates for magazines to use as a starting point. Blurb has software called BookWright, that seems pretty robust. I had thought about using the Blurb book option that is integrated into Lightroom, but it does not accommodate the magazine size/format.
Has anyone had experience using Blurb for producing Photo books? It looks like the quality is good ( I am looking at the Premium Magazine option). A magazine is something that people will pick up and look at casually, rather than a hardcover book. The idea is that I can produce a magazine for each trip and they would be more economical, space saving, and yet still good quality. I came up with the idea of creating a Blurb "Magazine" instead this time. In the past I have used MyPublisher/ShutterFly to produce books and had good success. I am trying to pry some digital images off my hard drive and into a book.
